Une autre perspective que vous souhaitez créer chez votre patient est la prise de conscience de la progression arithmétique. C’est-à-dire que si vous dites un centime cette semaine, deux centimes la semaine prochaine, quatre les suivants, huit les suivants, puis seize, trente deux, et ainsi de suite - tout en doublant cinquante fois - dans un an, il n’y a pas autant d'argent aux États-Unis. Un de mes fils a pensé qu'il pourrait correspondre à des milliers de dollars à la fin de l'année en suivant ma procédure. Alors je lui ai demandé de le calculer arithmétiquement, et il a découvert à l'ampleur de la tâche… Il ne pouvait probablement pas lire le nombre obtenu.
Et ainsi vous demandez à votre patient un dix millième de degré plus profond de transe. Vous construisez le concept de doubler ce montant, puis de le doubler à nouveau, jusqu'à ce que le patient comprenne le concept de progression arithmétique. Vous lui donnez le sentiment qu'il réagit, même à un niveau infinitésimal, car à mesure que l'approfondissement de la transe double encore et encore et encore, cela s'approfondit vraiment, très rapidement. La technique d'approfondissement consiste uniquement à obtenir de plus en plus de réponses faciles, et qui restent faciles, à
réaliser.

Yet another perspective that you want
to create in your patient is an awareness of arithmetic progression.
That is, if you say one penny this week, two pennies next week, four
the following, eight the following, then sixteen, thirty two, and so
on – just doubling in fifty two times – in a year's time there
isn't that much money in the United states. One of my sons thought
there might be thousand of dollars at the end of the year following
my procedure. So i gave him the task of figuring it out
arithmetically, and he discovered what a task that was.. He couldn't
possibly read the number.
And so you ask your patient one ten-thousandth of a degree deeper into trance. You build up the concept of doubling that amount, and then doubling it again, until the patient understand the concept of arithmetic progression. You are giving him a feeling that he is responsing, even at an infinitesimal level, because as the trance deepening doubles again and again and again, it really deepens so very, very rapidly. The deepening technique is only the matter of eliciting more and more responses that are easier, and yet easier still, to carry out.
